The seared ahi is good enough that it can be a meal by itself, but why not round it out with some rice and sautéed squash. We like our tuna with a nice charred crust, but still nearly raw in the middle, so crank the heat up high on the pan, and cook each side for no longer than a minute.
Prep Time: 20 mins Total Time: 40 mins
Step 1: Cook rice according to package instructions
Step 2: Oil and season tuna
Step 3: Heat oil or butter in a pan over high heat
Step 4: Sear tuna for 1-2 minutes per side
Step 5: Dice squash into small pieces
Step 6: Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium heat
Step 7: Saute squash for 7-10 minutes, until squash begins to brown
Step 8: Plate tuna, rice, and squash together and serve!
